After 18 years of dedicated service with Ingram Content Group, Joyce Skokut, Ingram Library Services (ILS) Director of Sales, will retire at the end of 2020.
Describing her 24.5 total years in the book business as “a wild ride with more adventures than I can count,” Joyce cites the diversity of her work in the industry and the people she’s met as what she cherishes most.
Coming to Ingram Content Group in 2002 with the acquisition of her prior company, The Bookmen, where she served as Chief of Operations, Joyce began as Ingram’s Director of Product Planning & Analysis. She took on new roles as business needs arose, working with National Accounts, indie bookstores, college stores, academic libraries, K-12, and finally, public libraries from coast to coast.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Joyce since December 2012,” said Pamela Smith, Vice President & General Manager of ILS. “Joyce’s knowledge of Ingram and her interactions with customers and publishers over the years has made her a valued associate and a joy to work with.”
Joyce’s experiences took her traveling all over the world, from the UK and the Netherlands to Jordan, Singapore, Qatar, and many other areas. She also had the opportunity to serve the Educational Book & Media Association (EBMA) as the assoication’s President, Vice President, and Treasurer.
“There are so many wonderful people that I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and befriend throughout my time in the book industry,” Joyce said. “I’m so grateful for the collaborations, connections, and good times I have experienced through my work.”
Joyce will continue to serve as Director of Library Sales during the search for her successor. Ingram is thankful for all Joyce’s contributions and hard work and we wish her well in her retirement!
